I highly recommend Denice to any parent looking for a great piano teacher for their student. We have had the pleasure of working with Denice for over 2 years now. She has a delightful personality, and is very friendly and approachable. Her experience and qualifications speak for themselves. Denice is a great teacher with a vast knowledge base. Each student is different and requires a different approach. Both my girls had very different attitudes and motivations towards the piano. Denice has done a great job of identifying each students' strengths, weaknesses, and then tailoring the lessons accordingly. You will not get a “cookie cutter” lesson with Denice. I always appreciate professionalism in any teacher I work with. Denice is very professional. Setting schedules, being on time, giving you ample notice if there is any change in plans. Before we moved to the area, we had worked with another piano teacher for 8 years. My girls and I were hesitant to work with a new teacher. But Denice made the transition very smooth and easy for the girls. We have had the opportunity to work with Denice in person lessons and online. I appreciate very much that the effectiveness of the lessons has not been impacted greatly by moving online. Why I Love Teaching!

Music is a gift that all  human beings can enjoy. But music lessons are a privilege that many in our world don’t have. I take very seriously the act of teaching this “privilege,” and make sure that my student’s experiences are worth every bit their value. For some, music lessons are a chore and very hard to stomach. For others, they can’t wait to come to their lessons. I understand this, and know that not all music students are musically gifted. Therefore, I gear my lessons toward meeting every need, desire, and ability.

For those students who are seeking a serious musical training, I believe I have the knowledge, experience and skill required to bring them to a high performance level. Every music teacher would prefer these kinds of students, of course! It makes our lives much easier!

I see music teaching as something even higher than just teaching musical knowledge and skills. I believe that “teaching” shapes lives, and I love shaping and influencing young people to believe in themselves and to explore their full potentials. I love teaching because students fulfill the need in me to see others do well and excel. As a teacher, I see myself as one who can do good while at the same time doing what I love to do. Like the quote above by Tolstoy, this is also my idea of happiness!

RCM SONGS PROJECT

We have started recording RCM songs. The goal is to record all the songs of the RCM and make them available on YouTube. This project is open to gifted singers who can learn songs fast and provide a professional final result. Students will be chosen by the teacher to participate in this project.

Vocal Coaching

Professional vocal coaching for both amateur and professional singers. Dr. Grant is an excellent accompanist, and being a singer herself she understands vocal production, languages, diction, and the vocal repertoire.

How it works:
  • Zoom sessions
  • If accompaniment is needed, it will be free if recorded during the coaching session. If a track is requested outside of the coaching session, it will be the same price as above for tracks ($1.00 per minute for the amount of time it takes to record your order)
  • Same price as lessons: $75 per hour, $56 per 45 minutes, and $37 per half an hour. See FAQ for more information.
