PIANO AND VOICE LESSONS

About Singing

A singer’s instrument is built in to their bodies. They just need to learn to tune in and use what is already there. My job as a voice teacher is to enable the singer to use their body to the best of its ability. Is it possible to sing effortlessly and without pain, stress, and tightness in the throat? Absolutely, yes! Understanding breathing, breath support, vowel placement, intonation, resonance, and the different parts of the voice, are some of the fundamentals students need to learn freedom in singing. Then, they need to learn to apply all of this knowledge to the act of making music with their voice. And yes, it is possible!

I love teaching singing because the more I teach the more I learn how to teach. And as with any music student, I am always working on building up confidence, self-esteem and the sense that yes, “I can do this,” “this is possible for me also.”
